LOL That's funny, because I have a friend that drives in from Chicago to play. Every now & then he can't make it, so I get him on Skype and he still plays with us through the net. For dice rolling, we've been using the demo of Fantasy Grounds, as it is free and allows die rolls that everyone can see. It's pretty cool, I have been seriously considering purchasing the suite.

I've added both of you to Trillian. I'll be offline for a while, though, as I'm just now leaving work.

Don't get me wrong, I love D20, it's my fav RPG system. However, I think it would be more work to convert GW to a D20 system than it would be to just come up with a new system based on the existing structure of GW.
The newest PnP RPG I've played is Warhammer, and they did a damn good job IMO. The world is much deadlier than those I am used to, but it is still an outstanding piece of work. Warhammer uses d10's/percentile system, and while I would like to use percentile myself for GW, I am thinking of a different setup than Warhammer. In Warhammer, low is good, except when rolling damage. I don't like that myself, I like high is good, always.

there are two options to play around with ... one is to use what we got in GW and make a simple PnP with the D10 system as that is easily converted to the % system in GW onlinegame ...
or go a fullblown way and use the GW onlinegame more as a guideline. use it´s monsters, world story, spells etc. but fluff it up with 'real' character making etc. in the D20 way ...
I think it would be fun to be able to play GW 'as it is' in PnP ... but I think that in time you (the GM and the players) will want more then the simple line that the GW game is. a RPG is complex with many options ... and the more you play a game the more 'flaws' and 'I wish' you find =)
but as in any game it´s up to teh GM to make rules for it if it´s not there ... any good GM will do that, but it´s always easier if it´s there from teh start ...
*thinking* well ... hmm ... discussion? =)
EDIT: can the Warhammer rules be changed easily to work with HIGH is always good?
